ACME announced on Wednesday that it would be closing its Market on McLean Avenue for an estimated 60 days or less, as they transform the space into an environment that will “provide customers with a warm, inviting atmosphere that highlights fresh departments and enhanced specialty shops.”

The new store will feature a full-service butcher block featuring fresh meats daily and a new seafood department. The market’s new bakery will include international desserts and popular artisan breads and cakes. According to officials, there will be a wide variety of natural, organic and gluten-free products and an upgraded produce department that is updated regularly with seasonal items.

“We’ll create a fresh, new feel to the shopping experience with greater selections, convenience and variety,” ACME Markets President Jim Perkins said in a statement announcing the remodel. “We look forward to continuing to bring the best of ACME to the residents of Yonkers for many years to come.”

With its doors now closed, ACME is scheduled to reopen at the end of February with a grand reopening celebration for the community.

“Our new store will celebrate our customers, and we are thrilled to offer them such a fantastic new shopping experience,” Perkins added. “From our product selection to the design and layout of the store, our goal is to tailor this store to our neighbors in Yonkers.”
